About

Kerryn has been engaged in the world of art since she was a child always drawing and visiting art shows and galleries. Despite achieving top marks in year 12 Art she followed a pragmatic path and completed an honours degree in economics and attained a very successful career in Economic research. Though whilst at university she took the opportunity to study many of the great artists from Giotto to Goya and Picasso.

But her passion was always pulling her to artistic endeavours and

when family and work commitments allowed, she now devotes time to her artwork.

She discovered pastels and loves their vibrancy and versatility but also produces works in acrylic . She has studied with some of the best artists in Australia and overseas refining her style and exploring new techniques.

Kerryn will tackle any subject she finds engaging and approaches different subjects in a way that she feels are suitable to the idea, some works are meticulous in execution others come to life more spontaneously. All have common threads of bold color and light. Flowers are a subject she continues to explore and enjoy.

She loves to create color and light in her paintings and will experiment with all types of techniques to achieve results.

She loves undertaking commissions. She says “It’s a joy to create something special for someone of a treasured place, pet or person.” She enjoys the challenge of commissions and they have led her to take risks and try something new and loves when what she has created resonates with the client.

A dedicated member of the pastel society of Victoria, where she previously served as treasurer and committee member Kerryn has received numerous awards for her work, but receives the most joy from bringing a clients vision to life.

When she’s not in her studio Kerryn will be found in her kitchen cooking up a storm or on her travels seeking new inspiration.
